PT. 27 AR-RAHMAN CH. 55 فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّ بْنِ 33. In the present political parlance, however, the word may signify the two main blocs - Russia and its satellites on one side and the United States of America and its allies on the other. The context seems to support this meaning. The word may also signify the capitalist and the labour classes. Commentary: The verse seems to hold a severe warning to the United States of America with its allies, and Communist Russia with its satellites. The whole world practically has become divided into these two main groups; every one of the so-called neutral countries is inclined to one or the other of them. From the way in which these two great powers are behaving, it seems that the world is perilously standing on the brink of an abyss. Any day they may be locked into mortal conflict, completely destroying man's accumulated labours of centuries spent in developing arts and sciences, and inevitably rendering life on earth practically extinct. 4068.
