And surely those who were made to inherit the Book after them are in a disquieting doubt concerning it,3612 PT. 25 بَعْدِهِمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ. فَلِذلِكَ فَادْعُ وَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرُ To this, then, do thou invite. 16 Estellé هُمْ وَقُلْ أَمَنْتُ بِمَا as thou art commanded, and وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ اَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَقُلْ أَمَنْتُ بِمَا E evil أَنْزَلَ اللهُ مِنْ كِتَبِ وَأُمِرْتُ لِاعْدِلَ inclinations, but say, “I believe بَيْنَكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا mankind. "And be thou steadfast follow not their in whatever Book Allah has sent down, and I am commanded to judge justly between you; Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For وَبَيْنَكُمُ اللهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا ۚ وَإِلَيْهِ ,us is the reward of our works الْمَصِيرُة and for you the reward of your works. There is no quarrel between us and you. Allah will gather us together, and to Him is the return. " '3613 11:113. 5:50; 6:57. 2:140; 10:42. -the revelation par excellence—was Prophet who became heirs to Divine given to the Holy Prophet. 3612. Commentary: While the pronoun "they" in the expression "and they did not become divided" refers to the followers of the Prophets mentioned in the previous verse, the reference in the words, "those who were made to inherit the Book after them," is either to those followers of the above-mentioned Prophets who inherited the Book after those Prophets had passed away or to the people in the time of the Holy revelation after the followers of the Israelite Prophets had defied and disobeyed the Divine Message. 3613 Commentary: The Holy Prophet is here enjoined to tell the followers of earlier Prophets that he believes in all the revealed Scriptures that had come before him. There was, therefore, no cause for them to quarrel with him. But since they continued to reject him, so time will show who is in the right and who in the wrong. The 2830
