CH. 40 AL-MU'MIN PT. 24 مَّنْ قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ لَّمْ them are some whom We have mentioned to thee, and of them are some whom We have not mentioned to thee; "and it is not j نَقْصُصْ عَلَيْكَ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِايَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللهِ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُ possible for any Messenger to اللهِ قُضِيَ بِالْحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ of Allah. But when Allah's الْمُبْطِلُونَ bring a Sign except by the leave decree comes, the matter is decided with truth, and then there perish those who utter falsehoods. 3549 R. 9. cattle for you, that you may ride اللهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَنْعَامَ لِتَرْكَبُوا It is Allah Who has made. 80 مِنْهَا وَ مِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ on some of them, and eat of the flesh of some of them-3550 وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً And you derive other. 81 ki benefits from them-and that, فِي صُدُورِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ by means of them, you may satisfy any desire that may be in a13:39; 14:12. 6:143; 16:6; 23:22; 36:72-74. 16:6-8; 23:22-23; 36:73-74. 3549. Commentary: for to The verse purports to say that though the prophecies containing warnings and threats meant disbelievers are subject postponement, revocation or cancel- lation, yet, if by closing the door of repentance, the disbelievers make themselves deserving of Divine punishment they are punished. But it is not for the Prophet to say when and how they are to be punished. 3550. Commentary: contain a great moral lesson for man in relation to cattle and other animals which God has created for his use. The lesson is that man is not the creator of these animals and yet he exercises control over them, whereas God has created man but he refuses to acknowledge God's control over him or the authority of His Messenger. The verse further seems to imply that when God has taken so much care to provide for the physical needs of man, He could not have ignored to make similar provision for the needs of his soul which are much more This and the next two verses important than those of the body. 2796
