PT. 24 O ye ignorant ones?' 3482 AZ-ZUMAR CH. 39 الجهلُونَ وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ And verily it has been. 66 قَبْلِكَ لَمِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ before thee: “If thou associate وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَسِرِينَ ) revealed to thee as unto those partners with God, thy work shall surely be in vain and thou shalt certainly be of the losers. '3483 بَلِ اللهَ فَاعْبُدُ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّكِرِينَ Aye, worship Allah and be. 67 among the thankful. 3484 وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ ۚ وَالْاَرْضُ And they do not esteem. 68 Allah with the esteem that is earth will be but His handful on جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيمَةِ وَالسَّموتُ due to Him. And the whole مَطوِيتُ بِيَمِينِهِ سُبْحَنَهُ وَتَعَلَى عَمَّا the Day of Resurrection, and the يُشْرِكُونَ. heavens will be rolled up in His right hand. Glory to Him and exalted is He above that which they associate with Him. 3485 3482. Commentary: "6:89. 6:92; 22:75. 21:105. With this verse the Surah returns to the subject of Divine Unity with which it had opened and purports to say that it is the height of ignorance and folly to worship false deities. 3483. Commentary: The verse is of general application, and stresses the futility and stupidity of polytheistic beliefs and idolatrous practices. 3484. Commentary: and faculties which is the true significance of (thankfulness), consists in giving our undivided devotion to the Divine Being to Whom alone it is due. 3485. Commentary: The word signifying power and strength, the verse refers to the great power and majesty of God and purports to say that nothing is more derogatory to His great attributes than that idols, made of wood and stone, or weak human beings, should be The right use of God-given powers worshipped. 2763
