PT. 22 SABA' CH. 34 قُلْ اِنْ ضَلَلْتُ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَى Say, If I err, I err only. 51 against myself; and if I am نَفْسِي وَ إِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ فَبِمَا يُوحَى rightly guided, it is because of إِلَى رَبِّي إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ what my Lord has revealed to me. "Verily, He is Hearing, Nigh. ' وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ فَرْعُوا فَلَا فَوْتَ وَأَخِذُوا Couldst thou but see when. 52 مِنْ مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ وَقَالُوا أَمَنَّابِهِ ۚ وَإِنِّي لَهُمُ التَّنَاوُشُ مِنْ مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدة they will be smitten with fear! Then there will be no escape, and they will be seized from a place nearby. 3172 53. And they will say, 'We now believe therein. ' But how can the attaining of faith be possible to them from a position so far- off 3173 وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَيَقْذِفُونَ While they had disbelieved. 54 بِالْغَيْبِ مِنْ مَّكَانٍ بَعِيْدِ وَحِيْلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ كَمَا barrier has been in it before? And they are uttering conjectures from a far- off place. 3174 55. And a barrier has been placed between them and that 3172. Commentary: "2:187; 11:62. The words "from a place nearby" may either refer to the battlefield of Badr or to the Fall of Mecca. The verse thus means that disbelievers will realize that they were in the wrong when they would sustain a crushing defeat at Badr or when their great citadel, Mecca, would fall to Muslim arms. 3173. Commentary: off" may mean "after death. " In this sense the verse would mean that disbelievers will surely realize after death that they were in the wrong. 3174. Commentary: The verse means to say that disbelievers are making foolish conjectures about the failure of the Prophet's mission. These conjectures being far removed from the source of "the unseen" or from reality, reason and The words "from a position so far- truth are quite foolish and baseless. 2621
