CH. 31 كُلِّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍة وَاقْصِد فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِنْ صَوْتِكَ اِنَّ اَنْكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ most لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِن PT. 21 LUQMAN surely, Allah loves not any arrogant boaster. 3045 20. And walk thou at a moderate pace, and "lower thy voice; verily, the disagreeable of voices is the braying of the ass. R. 3. '3046 21. And among men there are some who dispute concerning Allah, without knowledge or guidance or an illuminating Book. 3047 a49:3-4. 13:14; 22:4, 9. exhortation to his son "to endure patiently whatever may befall thee. " 3045. Important Words: (turn in pride) is derived from which means, he had a distortion in the face by reason of pride with a turning of the face on one side. They sayi. e. in his cheek is a صعر خده. distortion arising from pride means, he turned away his cheek from the people on account of pride and dislike or contempt (Lane & Aqrab). Commentary: When a man comes to acquire firm faith in God and His powers and attributes, and engages himself in Prayer, and exhorts other men to do 2529 good and right actions, and also patiently puts up with abuse and persecution which he has to face in the discharge of his difficult task, a new world opens up to him. God inspires him with His love and, as a numbers. Then he is likely to become result, people flock to him in large self-conceited and self-centred. Hence Luqmān's warning to his son to be on his guard against this moral lapse. 3046. Commentary: In this verse Luqmān impresses upon his son the supreme necessity of moderation and avoiding extremes. 3047. Important Words: (has completed) is derived from
