CH. 24 AN-NŪR PT. 18 وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَاَنَّ And but for the grace of. 21 Allah and His mercy upon you and the fact that Allah is Compassionate and Merciful, you would have been ruined. R. 3. اللهَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمُن يَايُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوتِ O ye who believe! follow. 22 not the footsteps of Satan, and الشَّيْطَنِ وَمَنْ يَتَّبِعْ خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَنِ whoso follows the footsteps of فَإِنَّهُ يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ وَلَوْلَا Satan should know that he surely enjoins immorality and فَضْلُ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ مَازَكى manifest evil. And but for the grace of Allah and His mercy مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ أَبَدًا وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ يُزَكِّي upon you, not one of you would مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ever be pure, but Allah purifies whom He pleases. In this verse we are told that scandal-mongering leads to the prevalence of vice. 2604. Commentary: horror at committing what is clearly and manifestly an evil act; to begin with, Satan avoids tempting a man to commit a manifestly immoral act. He leads his victim to his moral ruin gradually and in stages, beginning with what apparently seems to be quite a harmless act. The victim is tempted to talk to others what he hears from someone else about an immoral act done by an individual.
