And if the Truth followed their desires, verily, وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ had السَّمُوتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ بَلْ the heavens and the earth and آتَيْنَهُمْ بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِهِمْ whosoever is therein would معْرِضُونَ have been corrupted. Nay, "We have brought them their admonition, but from their own admonition they now turn aside. 2559 لَمْ تَسْلُهُمْ خَرُ جَا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ Or dost thou ask of them. 73 any reward? But the reward of thy Lord is best; and He is the Best of providers. 2560 21:3. 52:41; 68:47. they hate the truth, meaning thereby that they know that by accepting it they will have to undergo untold hardships and privations and to suffer loss of power, prestige and property. See also 12:105; 15:7; 16:45, etc. Commentary: The word meaning "the Truth" here may refer to God or the Quran. As referring to the Quran the verse would mean that the law of nature will continue to work in the Holy 2228 وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّزِقِينَ Prophet's favour and the caravan of truth will march on much against the wishes of disbelievers. The Quran is intended to bring its addressees honour and eminence but by refusing to accept it they are digging their grave with their own hands. 2560.
