CH. 9 AT-TAUBAH PT. 11 وَلَا يَرْغَبُوا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ ذَلِكَ Arabs of the desert that they should have remained behind بِأَنَّهُمْ لَا يُصِيبُهُمْ ظَمَا وَلَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا the Messenger of Allah or that they should have preferred their مَخْمَصَةٌ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَلَا يَطَعُونَ مَوْطئًا own lives to his. That is because يَغِيظُ الْكُفَّارَ وَلَا يَنَالُونَ مِنْ عَدُوِنَّيْلًا there distresses them neither thirst nor fatigue nor hunger in إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُمْ بِهِ عَمَلَ صَالِحُ إِنَّ اللهَ the way of Allah, nor do they tread a track which enrages the disbelievers, nor do they cause an enemy any injury whatsoever, but there is written down for them a good work on account of it.
