CH. 9 R. 13. AT-TAUBAH PT. 11 والشبقُونَ الْاَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَجِرِينَ And as for the foremost. 100 وَالْأَنْصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُمْ بِإِحْسَان the Migrants and the Healers among the believers, the first of and those who followed them in *OKRŲ Kruhlarig رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ the best possible manner, Allah لَهُمْ جَنَّتٍ تَجْرِي تَحْتَهَا الْأَنْهرُ خَلِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ ) is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him; and He has prepared for them Gardens beneath which flow rivers. They will abide therein forever. That is the supreme triumph. 1249 وَمِمَّنْ حَوْلَكُمْ مِّنَ الْأَعْرَابِ And of the desert Arabs. 101 are some around you مُنْفِقُونَ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ مَرَدُوا hypocrites; and of the people of "58:23; 98:9. thing by which one seeks nearness to God or a thing by which one seeks to advance oneself in His favour (Lane). Commentary: The Quran is fair to all. As the Arabs of the desert were spoken of in 9:97, as being the worst in disbelief and hypocrisy, this verse points out that all Arabs of the desert are not alike. Even among them are sincere believers who are ever striving to attain nearness to God. 1249. Important Words: (foremost) is the plural of which is derived from J, being the opposite of i. e. the last. J, means, the first; one preceding all others (Lane & Aqrab). Commentary: The verse mentions two distinctive qualifications of prominent believers: (1) i. e. those who are foremost in spiritual rank, outstripping others in faith and actions; and (2) i. e. those who are the first to believe, others only following them. They | models سبق being derived from السابق The Companions of the Holy Prophet are thus held up here as for others, being both sayi. e. he got or went or came foremost in rank and the first to before him or ahead of him; he believe. Nay, even those, who outstripped him in a race, etc. So sincerely followed in their footsteps, is one who outstrips others in faith became the favoured ones of God. and actions (Lane).
