PT. 8 AL-A'RĀF CH. 7 عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا أَنْتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ 'Enter Paradise; no fear shall come upon you, nor shall you grieve. ' 999949 وَنَادَى أَصْحَبُ النَّارِ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ And the immates of the Fire. 51 افِيضُوا عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ اَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللهُ will call out to the inmates of Heaven, 'Pour out on us some water or some of that which Allah has provided for you. ' They will say, 'Verily, Allah has forbidden them both to disbelievers- 950 52. Those who religion for a pastime and a قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى الْكَفِرِينَ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَهُوًا وَ لَعِبًا who took their وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيوةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ نَنْسُهُمْ sport, and whom the life of the كَمَا نَسُوا لِقَاءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَذَا وَمَا كَانُوا world beguiled. ' This day, 'then, shall We forget them as they 949. Commentary: The reference in the word a5:58; 6:71. 45:35. (these) is to the would-be inmates of Heaven. The Prophets will address the inmates of Hell, telling them to look at the inmates of Heaven and then will ask them, "Are these the men about whom you swore that Allah would not extend mercy to them?" And then without waiting for an answer the Prophets would turn to the would-be inmates of Heaven and ask them to come forward and enter Paradise. The words, Enter Paradise, show that the would-be inmates of Heaven had not yet entered Paradise but hope to do so soon. 950. Commentary: pour) افيضوا علينا The use of the words on us) by the inmates of Hell implies that they would in a way flatter the inmates of Heaven by saying to them that they had enjoyed God's blessings (which were virtually overflowing) to their heart's content, and would then beg of them to give them a little of the abundant good that God had bestowed upon them.
