CH. 6 AL-AN'ĀM PT. 8 E a ثَمُنِيَةَ أَزْوَاجِ مِنَ الضَّانِ اثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ And of the cattle He has. 144 created eight mates: of the الْمَعْزِ اثْنَيْنِ قُلْ الذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ sheep two, and of the goats two; say, 'Is it the two males الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ that He has forbidden or the two الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ نَبِئُونِي بِعِلْمٍ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ females or that which the wombs صدِقِينَ of the two females contain? Inform me with knowledge, if you are truthful. '883 وَمِنَ الْإِبِلِ اثْنَيْنِ وَ مِنَ الْبَقَرِ اثْنَيْنِ قُلْ And of the camels two, and. 145 الذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ اَمِ الْأنْثَيَيْنِ اَمَّا two males that He has forbidden of the oxen two. Say, ‘Is it the or the two females or that which اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ اَرْحَامُ الْأُنْثَيَين 1 the wombs of the two females كُنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءَ إِذْ وَضُكُمُ اللهُ بِهَذَا contain? Were you present when Allah enjoined this on you?' فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرى عَلَى اللهِ كَذِبًا Who is then more unjust than لِيُضِلَّ النَّاسَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ اللهَ he who forges a lie against لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّلِمِينَ Allah that he may lead men astray without knowledge? The word is applied) الماعز | a) زوج mates) is the plural of) ازواج mate). The word is used to signify, one of the pair, whether male or female and whether among human beings or among animals, or whether among plants or among any class of things. (for to all animals of the class of which see above) having hair (not wool) and small tails (Aqrab & Lane). Commentary: الضائن sheep is the plural of الضأن (one sheep). The word is applied to all animals of the class of (which cover both sheep and goats) having wool (Aqrab & Lane). 936 See note under the following verse. 884.
