PT. 4 ĀL-E-‘IMRĀN CH. 3 وَلِلهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَوتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَاللهُ And to Allah belongs the. 190 kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah has power over all things. 472 R. 20. 19 & عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌة اِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ السَّمَوتِ وَالْأَرْضِ In the creation of the. 191 وَاخْتِلَافِ الَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَا يَتٍ لِأُولِى الْأَلْبَابِ heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day there are indeed Signs for men of understanding;47: 192. "Those who Allah standing, sitting, and الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قِيمًا وَقُعُودًا وَّ عَلَى remember جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَوتِ lying on their sides, and ponder وَالْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَذَا بَاطِلا over the creation of the heavens and the earth: d❝Our Lord, Thou a5:18-19, 121; 24:43; 42:50. b2:165; 3:28; which means, he was successful and gained what he desired. means, he escaped it (danger, etc. ), or he became secure from it. So ; means, a place or state of security or escape; a means of success and prosperity (Aqrab). Commentary: The expression "think not" mentioned twice in the verse not only makes the sentence more clear, but also adds to it beauty and force. Such people as exult in evil deeds and have no anxiety and no desire for their spiritual welfare, being satisfied with false praise only, must not consider themselves secure from Divine punishment. 472. Commentary After having dealt, at some length, with the incidents connected with the Battle of Uhud and the hardships that 45:6. 4:104; 10:13; 39:10; 62:11. d38:28. 601 the Muslims had to suffer as a result thereof, God comforts them with the declaration that their intervening sufferings are only a passing phase and the final victory will surely be theirs, because to God belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and He has graciously decreed to bestow both spiritual and temporal blessing on Muslims. 473. Commentary: The lesson implied in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of night and day is that man has been created both for spiritual and temporal progress, and that if he acts righteously, his period of darkness and affliction must be followed by one of sunshine and happiness.
