وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ

and turn away from the ignorant.

وَفِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزۡقُكُمۡ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ

And in heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised.

فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقّٞ

And by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth.

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Do men think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and that they will not be tested?

يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيۡكَ وَهُمۡ لَا يُبۡصِرُونَ

thou seest them looking towards thee, but they see not.

وَتِلۡكَ ٱلۡأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ

And such days We cause to alternate among men.

كُلّٞ يَعۡمَلُ عَلَىٰ شَاكِلَتِهِ

‘Everyone acts according to his own way.

ٱلۡخَبِيثَٰتُ لِلۡخَبِيثِينَ

Bad things are for bad men.

وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
