426 Α'ΙΝΑ-Ε-ΚΑMĀLĀT-E-ISLAM-DAFI UL-WASĀWIS they fail to understand that someone who is deprived of a basic bounty, which is the pivot of faith, cannot possibly acquire other bounties. If any super-normal matter appears to be displayed by him, it would be a temporary and passing phenomenon not a miracle. There can in no way be such a calamity that somewhat claiming to be a Wali be bereft of simple human abilities because the established way of Allah is that those whom He blesses with His bounties also possess an ample share of the human excellences. This seems to be the wisdom behind the indication given to me by Allah to write this letter in Arabic. Because in His view, people who are bereft of the language and verities of the Holy Quran due to their beliefs or negligence are not worthy of being considered honourable enough to be addressed. Indeed, by their perpetual negligence and love for igno- rance, they have set a seal on their lack of love for the Holy Quran. They actually do not tread the paths of Islam but are floundering on other paths. Even if they acquire some kind of relish, their souls cannot affirm that it is by the blessings of the Holy Quran, because they have no relationship with the Noble Quran, nor do they have any desire for it. Their souls also cannot affirm that they have acquired any status because of the love for the Holy Prophet, may peace and bless- ings of Allah be upon him. Since they have not loved the Holy Quran perfectly, how can they have perfect love for the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him? The magnificence of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is dis- played by the Holy Quran. Someone who has not witnessed the Holy Quran cannot possibly witness the Holy Prophet. Such people were, therefore, not worthy of being loved and their hypocritical condition was quite obvious. Therefore, it had been considered needless to write them a letter to convey the message. It is surprising that the followers of such people do not consider that the primary excellence and perfection of a Walī lies in being vouch- safed the knowledge of the Holy Quran because it is the commander,
