LETTER TO NAWWAB MUHAMMAD ALI KHAN through it like an iron peg. The heart accepts it and its light and majesty permeate through one's whole being. I make the promise with you that if you go through this affair in my pres- ence and under my instruction and advice, I will make strenu- ous efforts for you, because I entertain the very best sentiments regarding you, and desire from God Almighty that He may not let you go to waste, and that He may foster your righteousness and good fortune. I have taken much of your time, so now I close. . وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدَى ]And peace be upon those who follow the guidance]. After reading your letter again, I noticed that there is one thing which appears in need of attention in greater detail; namely, your request for such prayer as may render everyone's Istikhārah free from the interference of Satan. My dear friend, such a thing is against the law of nature of God Almighty that He should remove Satans from their assigned stations. Allah, glorified be His eminence, says in the Noble Quran: 10 Meaning: We have not sent any such Messenger or Prophet, whose condition should not have been such that when he wishes for something-meaning when he desired for some- thing upon the prompting of his soul that Satan would not mix something in it. In other words, when a Messenger or a Prophet seeks something by the promptings of his own soul, Satan mixes something in his desires as well, but then, wahye-matlūw-which possesses glory, majesty, and perfect light-removes that interference and makes the Divine will 1.
