382 ΑΙΝΑ-Ε-ΚΑMĀLĀT-E-ISLAM-DAFI UL-WASĀWIS and a marvel. God Almighty does not speak of them in the Noble Quran in praiseworthy terms; He holds them liable to punishment, as in one place, He says: 10 Meaning: These people emphatically swear that if they see some Sign they would certainly come to believe. Tell them, the Signs are with God Almighty. And you do not know that they would never come to believe even if they were to see the Signs. 2 Meaning: It would not be of any benefit to come to believe on the day when the Signs will be shown, and the one who comes to believe only after seeing a Sign, would not benefit from that belief. . . 3 Meaning: The disbelievers say, 'When will the Signs appear and when will the promise be fulfilled?' So, tell them that I have no power in this matter, neither for good nor for evil for my own self, except as God wills. There is an appointed time for every people which can never be averted. 1.
