LETTER FROM NAWWAB MUHAMMAD ALI KHAN As the relation between the parties is delicate and the affair is of a spiritual character, please do not think that this letter of mine is impertinent, rather consider it as a request for beneficence. As I am pledged to you by Baiat, I have given you this trouble for my own peace of mind. One more issue comes to mind. Writings have now lost all credence. Those who believe in you will trust your writing, and the opponents will trust the writings of the opponents. Caught in between are those who wish to decide after due considera- tion of writings of both sides. These people do not trust either side, for they have no special connection with you nor the opponents. They will always be faced with a trial. 377
