LETTER FROM NAWWAB MUHAMMAD ALI KHAN 1 بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ Honoured and Esteemed Spiritual Healer—may Allah protect you! Assalamu 'alaikum [Peace be upon you]. My indisposition pre- vented me from sending a reply. Allah be praised, I am well now, and I trust that you are also in good health. The money has been sent through Mirza Khuda Bakhsh. I hope that Mirza Şahib would have informed you fully about everything. Ever since the publication of your claim of being the ‘like of the Messiah', everyone is in a strange state of agitation. There may be some special people who have not experienced any doubt, but I have been in a state of vacillation ever since. At times your claim appears to be correct, while at other times, there is a state of perplexity, so my condition is as if I am vac- illating between rejection and acceptance. Much dialogue has now taken place, but my mind finds no satisfaction through it. After listening to the pros and cons, the condition of my mind is indescribable. Rather, I sometimes begin to doubt even the truth of Islam. The reason is that while, on the one hand, God Almighty promises in the Holy Quran that He would show 1. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. [Publisher]
