I am perplexed as to what evil spirit has come to possess you and is causing you to expose yourself. In the end, please remember that it is a total fabrication on your part to take the ilhām [revelation]: 1 كَلْبٌ يَمُوْتُ عَلَى كَلْبٍ [He is a dog and he will die according to the value of the letters in the word kalb (dog), which amounts to fifty-two] to refer to yourself. I have never mentioned to anybody that you are the person meant by the revelation. And as regards the severity of some language that you complain about, that is also misplaced. What error have I committed if in reply to your extremely foul language-declar- ing me a kāfir, calling me a dajjal, and Satan, and the greatest liar-I have spoken the truth about you that befits your present condition? After all, there is a time for [the Quranic commandment[ 2 وَاغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ 'Be strict against them' [to be put into practice]. You seem to think as though by the sale of Barāhīn-e-Ahmadiyya I have taken 10,000 rupees from people and misappropriated the amount. This is an idea taught to you by the Satan who always accom- panies you. How have you come to know that I do not intend to pub- lish Barāhīn? If Barāhīn does get printed and published, would a sense of shame not demand that you drown yourself? Every delay cannot be ascribed to ill intention. I had even published a notice that peo- ple who could not wait may get their money back, and a lot of money 1.
