ANNOUNCEMENT OF A PROPHECY 327 the girl would meet with an extremely bad end, that any other man whom she might marry shall die within two and a half years of nikāḥ. Similarly, her father shall die within three years,1,2 that there would be discord, deprivation, and trouble in that family, and, in the intervening period, there would also be unpleasant incidents and sorrowful hap- penings for the girl. Again, on repeatedly concentrating my attention for detailed knowledge, I came to know that God Almighty had ordained that eventually, after removing all obstacles, He would cause the elder daughter of the man addressed—for whose hand the proposal had been made-to marry this humble self; that He would cause the irreligious to become Muslims and would spread guidance among the misguided. Here is the Arabic revelation relating to this: كَذَّبُوْا بِأَيْتِنَا وَكَانُوْا بِهَا يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَرُدُّ هَا إِلَيْكَ لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ. أَنْتَ مَعِي وَأَنَا مَعَكَ. عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُوْدًا . Meaning that: They have rejected Our Signs and they had already been mocking. To frustrate the activities of all those who are interfering in this matter, Allah will be your Helper. God will ultimately bring her back to you. No one can change the words of God. Your Lord is All-Powerful and does what- ever He determines. You are with Me and I am with you. Soon you will be granted a praiseworthy station. Meaning that though at first, the foolish and ignorant ones will say all sorts of disagreeable things out of their evil and suspicious minds, and 1. Three years are to be reckoned from the date of nikah; but, it is never meant that there would be no incidents before this; some of the visions show that the time of the addressee's misfortune, the result of which is unknown, ap- pears to be near at hand. وَالله اَعْلَمُ ]And Allah knows best]. —Author 2. The father of the girl died in the fourth month after marriage in accordance with the prophecy; that is, the nikah was performed on 7 April 1892, and he passed away on 30 September 1892 at Hoshiarpur. -Author
