PREFACE SUB-FOOTNOTE 241 such objections, our hasty and senseless critics have only exposed their depravity of insight and understanding, and how distanced they and their doctrines are from the subtleties of truthfulness; as well as what excellences of verities, insights, and subtleties are embedded in the holy teachings of the Noble Quran and how it encompasses all spiritual vir- tues and beauties. In the end, I pray: O All-Powerful God! O Guide of Your Servants! Manifest the insights and verities of the Noble Quran upon these ignorant people, just as You have made the present age a manifestation of new inventions. Draw this age towards Yourself, towards Your Book, and towards Your Tauhid [Oneness of God]. Kufr [disbelief] and shirk [associating partners with God] have grown so very much while fidelity to Islam is waning. Now O Noble Lord!- !-cause the breeze of Your Tauḥid to blow in the East and in the West and manifest a Sign of attrac- tion in the heavens. O Merciful Lord! We are in desperate need of Your mercy. O our Guide! We are in urgent need of Your guidance. Blessed is the day when Your light is manifested. How holy would that moment be wherein the trumpet of Your victory is blown! توكلنا عليك ولا حول ولا قوة الا بك وانت العلى العظيم. [We place our trust in You, and there is no power and no strength except through You, and You are the High, the Great. ] -Author
