140 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS وَ يَوْمَ الْقِيِّمَةِ تَرَى الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا عَلَى اللهِ وُجُوهُهُمْ مُسْوَدَة اليْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوَى لِلْمُتَكَبِرِينَ ) وَيُنَحَى اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا بِمَفَازَتِهِمْ لَا يَمَسُّهُمُ السُّوءُ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ) 19 —Part Number 24, Surah az-Zumar Meaning that: On the Day of Judgment, you will see that those who lied about God will have their faces blackened. (And why should they not be blackened?) Is it not befitting that the arrogant be cast into Hell? And Allah the Exalted shall save the righteous in that He shall facilitate the attainment of their desires. Evil shall not touch them and they shall not grieve. Now, this verse is—in a manner of speaking-a commentary on the earlier verse, for it discloses the essence of giving salvation': that they will attain their desires. It also reveals that they shall be totally safe from the touch of evil on that day—not even the slightest trouble shall touch them nor shall any grief come close to them. And this verse: وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا can also have another meaning: It may, in fact, be addressed only to those people who are suffering the punishment of Hell, some of whom—on account of possessing a share of righteousness—may be saved from the chastisement, while the others continue to abide in Hell. This mean- ing, however, would be applicable only if the righteous, the holy, and all those who have attained a station of nearness to God are excluded from the address. But the truth is that the meaning intended by the Word of Allah, glorified be His eminence, seems to be that which I And Allah knows] وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَرْجِعُ وَالْمَآبُ. have written earlier best what is right and everything must be rendered back to Him].
