138 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS statements of the Holy Quran may surprise a person whose vision cannot discern the truth. They often give rise to objections in their mind, as, for instance, the sitting of God Almighty in Judgment on His Throne; the standing of the angels in rows; the weighing of actions on the scales; the people's crossing of the pul-șirāṭ; slaughtering death like a goat after the meting out of punishment and reward; good and bad actions appearing to people in the form of beautiful or ugly humans; the existence of flow- ing rivers of milk and honey in Paradise; and so on. These are all things that appear [to such people] as being remote from truth and reasonable- ness. This one explanation, however, resolves all such doubts—that the world of the Hereafter is a world of analogous creations. you find an A fine point from among the mysteries of God Almighty is that He creates certain things in analogous forms just as they used to be other- wise. For example, you see your reflection in a mirror, and exact picture of yourself, with all your features correctly reproduced in the mirror. Why should it then be a cause for wonderment if God Almighty in actual fact takes a picture of the state of spiritual affairs and imbuing it with the spirit of truth, places it before your eyes? Allah, glorified be His eminence, reveals such truths to the seekers in this very world. There will be no experience in the Hereafter the nature of which cannot be discovered in this world. ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَواو : is followed by the verse وَإِن مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا : :The verse 2. Meaning that: After consigning the people to Hell, We shall save the righteous and leave the zālim [iniquitous ones] in it. Some may be perturbed here, objecting that the word 'save' implies that the person is first subjected to some punishment or torment from which they are afterwards 'saved'; meaning that it is—God forbid inevitable that the righteous people of God must be subjected, to some minor extent at least, to the punishment of Hell and would be saved thereafter.
