98 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطن : 1 Observe how clearly this verse tells that the angel of God Almighty is always present for the protection of man and remains with him for every moment, not being separated from him for so much as a single moment. At this juncture, can it be imagined that an angel is appointed for the perpetual protection of man's physical body, but no angel is appointed for the perpetual protection of his spiritual exist- ence? Rather, even the most bigoted of bigots can understand that the protection of the inner being, and the safeguarding of the soul is even more vital than the protection of the body since an affliction of the body is a suffering in this world alone, whereas an affliction of the soul and the spirit is capable of condemning one into everlasting Hell. How can we presume about the Merciful and Munificent God, who has mercy even upon this human body which exists today and will be dust tomorrow, that He does not have mercy upon the human soul? Thus, it is proven from this definitive and unequivocal text that the Holy Spirit or, you could say, the angel of internal safeguarding- always remains with a righteous person in the very same fashion as he remains with him for his external protection. AUTHOR'S MARGIN NOTE Reply to the question that since the Holy Spirit is granted especially to the elect of God, then why is it conferred upon common people. Many other verses in the Noble Quran with a similar meaning prove that angels who permanently stay with man are appointed over him for his physical and spiritual training and protection and to record his deeds. Some of these verses are the following: 1. Surely, you [Satan] shall have no power over My servants (Surah al-Hijr, 15:43). [Publisher]
