The same is the case with medicine: unless the throat and stomach are clean, the medicine cannot have an effect; the medicine is vomited or remains undigested. Why the Name 'Ahmadi' has been Adopted A maulawi came and asked, 'God has named us Muslims, so why have you named your sect Ahmadi? This is contrary to : هُوَ سَشَكُمُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ]He named you Muslims]. There is a sect in Syria called the Yazīdiyya who hurl abuse upon Imam Husain and parade themselves as Muslims. Because of this dilemma, our righteous ancestors called themselves Shafi'i, Hanbalī, etc. , to distinguish them- selves from such people. Nowadays, a sect of naturalists has emerged that altogether denies Heaven, Hell, angels, revelation, etc. , so much so that Syed Ahmad Khan believed that the Holy Quran is also the 1.
