358 MALFŪZĀT - ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF URDU VOLUME 8 Masīḥ [Jesus Christ] would be wrongfully honoured beyond all limits by the people, such things happened to him from the start, proving in every case that he was a humble and weak man. The Meaning of Tawaffi The Promised Messiahas said: Our opponents claim that the saying of Jesus that فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي means that, 'When You lifted me up to the heavens. ' If Jesus utters this phrase on the Day of Resurrection, it will be as if he had never even died, because even on the Day of Resurrection, there will be mention of going to Heaven but there is no men- tion of death. And if this verse is taken to mean 'when I died, meaning 'became dead, but death will come on the Day of Judgment, then it becomes necessary to believe that Christians have not become corrupt until today and their religion is based upon truth. Tasbih [Rosary] is a Later Invention One person mentioned that the opponents say that these people offer Prayers but do not keep tasbihs with them.
