348 MALFŪZĀT - ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF URDU VOLUME 9 وَإِنْ مِنْ قَرْيَةِ الَّا نَحْنُ مُهْلِكُوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيمَةِ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُوهَا عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا But God Almighty says: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخَيَّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ 2 It appears that God Almighty desires to defeat the doctors and ministers at this juncture. The Appearance of the Comet A comet has appeared these days. The Promised Messiahas asked an individual regarding it: Have you also seen the comets? He responded that, 'Your Holiness, I have not looked yet. The Promised Messiahas said: You must see it. Go observe it today. It is not one; there are two. I had also seen them-one is small and one is large. It starts to become visible at 3 o'clock. The commentators have written that during the time of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when a great many stars had fallen [i. e. a meteor shower], the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, made his claim to Prophethood a short 1. There is not a township but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with a severe punishment (Sūrah Bani Isrā'īl, 17:59). [Publisher] 2.
