116 MALFŪZĀT - ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF URDU VOLUME 9 The Promised Messiahas said: 'One should fire the gun after reciting the takbir [saying Allāhu Akbar, which means Allah is the Greatest]. Then if the prey dies it is lawful [to eat]. '1 29 JANUARY 1907 (Morning Walk) The Result of Hurling Abuse, Slandering Today, His Holiness the Promised Messiah, peace be on him, went out for a walk in the morning with his companions. On the mention of the apostate Dr Abdul-Hakim, the Promised Messiahas said that, An Arya newspaper, despite its religious opposition to me, wrote that 'Abdul-Hakīm hurling abuse on me shows his con- temptible nature. This behaviour is extremely inappropriate. One person commented that 'Abdul-Hakīm says, 'What has happened to Ja'far Zatalli who has been severely abusing Mirza [Ghulam Ahmad] Şahib that something would happen to me?'
