THE AWAITED AND THE SEEKER 77 Noor-ud-Deen a requested to take Bai'at (the Pledge of Allegiance) at his hand. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as, however, replied that he had not yet been permitted by God to accept Bai'at. Then Hazrat Maulawi Noor-ud-Deen ra took a promise from Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as that once he was given permission by God as the Promised Messiah as, he would be the first person whose Bai'at would be accepted.
