2 JESUS IN INDIA It is by virtue of believing in such baseless myths and tales that the spiritual maladies of immorality, malice, callousness and indiffer- ence continue to spread among most Islamic sects. And their qual- ity of human sympathy and pious virtues of mercy, justice, humil- ity and hospitality are declining, day by day, to such an extent, as though now they are ready to bid farewell most hastily. Due to this callousness and immorality many Muslims appear as though perhaps only marginally different from wild beasts. A follower of Jainism¹ or an adherent of Buddhism is afraid of and refrains from killing even a mosquito or a flea. But alas! There are many among us Muslims who, even at the time of committing wanton murder, or wasting the life of an innocent person, do not have the least fear of that God Almighty Who has declared human life immensely valuable in comparison to all other animals on earth. What is the cause of so much callousness and lack of compassion and indifference? It is because from their very childhood, myths and false stories regarding a false concept of Jihad are drummed into their ears and instilled into their hearts. As a result, they grad- ually become morally dead and cease to realize the heinousness of such abominable deeds. On the contrary, a man who murders an unsuspecting person and brings ruin to his family, thinks that he has done a deed worthy of great merit and indeed made the most of an opportunity to win social acclaim among his people. And because no sermons are delivered in our country to put a stop to such evils, and if at all there are any such sermons, they have an aura of hypocrisy about them; so the ordinary people at large 1.
