All-Seeing (). What I mean by this is that because of our own evil actions, we remove ourselves from God's merciful gaze. Therefore, we must always strive our utmost to draw closer to God Almighty. With regards to this, He has promised that if a person walks one step towards Him, God will come two steps towards the person, and if one walks towards God swiftly, He will rush towards the person. ' Accordingly, until we hasten towards God Almighty-or rather run towards Him-our condition will be like that of a chained goat standing before a wolf who may attack and instantly snatch us away. 1 SHIRK IS THE SOURCE OF OTHER SINS Hence, before carrying out any action or uttering any word, be mindful of shirk, lest you become distant from God Almighty and consequently Sahih Bukhari, p. 1273-1274, 1999 Riyadh, hadith no. 7405 [Publishers] -12-
