CHAPTER EIGHTEEN Free At Last B y now, it had been two years since my imprisonment began, and I had become very weak and thin. Often I prayed to Almighty Allah to grant me a time where there would no longer be a roof between me and the sky, and I can have the blessing of freedom. I spent my time occupying myself with a variety of prayers. Then finally one morning a soldier came near my door with a piece of paper in his hand and called out my name with a Russian accent: 'Zahoor Hussain. ' As soon as I heard this, I knocked on the inside of my door and said that is my name. He opened the door to my room and read out the order, which stated that I am to be sent back to my country British India soon and gave a check for 50 Rubles so that until I leave, I can meet my needs with this money. He told me to sign the order, which I did, and then he took the paper back and gave me the check. At that time, I was able to read and write a little Russian. As I heard this order, I immediately bowed to thank Allah Almighty, Who had heard my prayers, and now I would be released from prison soon.
