138 FIRST GRAIN OF SAND While walking slowly, it occurred to me to say the following words in Russian as I reach the end of the walkway: Один Бог есть, об я знаю и очень понимаю. [Pronounced Odin bog yest, ob ya znayu I ochen poni-mayu. ] Which meant that there is undoubtedly one God, that I know this and truly understand very well that there is one God. After making this statement out loud, I would then become silent and continue walking with the rest of the prisoners. When I reached the other side of the walkway with them and we were about to turn back around, I would say this statement once again that there is undoubtedly one God and that I know this and understand this fact very much. Once I said it, I would become silent once again. As a result, after our stroll ended, all the rooms in the prison where people came for a walk began having conversations on the topic of Tauheed [Oneness of God]. In fact, later someone in the prison told me that it had been published in a Russian newspaper that a crazy man has come from India who is going around saying there is only one God. The more they punished me, the greater the zeal for preaching and the passion for the message of monotheism grew within me. I was fully convinced that the prayers of my dear master, Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih II, were with me, and his spiritual focus and prayers fostered a deep passion within me towards preaching.
