That night, as I was tied to the wood plank and was unable to move, I ended up having to urinate where I was and had to lie on the soiled plank through the night. The soiled plank and the heat of the urine numbed, bruised and left sores on my skin. Even today, I have thick, prominent scars where the sores healed. In this perilously excruciating state, I prayed to God Almighty to inform Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih that I am being held captive and suffering a great deal. God Almighty in His infinite grace and mercy, heard my prayer in accordance with the Quranic verse: امَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ . . . Who answers the distressed person when he calls upon Him. (Sūrah an-Naml, 27:63) God Almighty heard my prayer and alerted Hazrat Khalifatul- Masih about my condition in a dream. In fact, two or three days later, I was shown in a dream that Huzoor was trying to secure my release, and I immediately recognized it as a true dream.
