They watched me very closely as their plan seemed to be that when I was sleeping, the soldier sta- tioned at the high swivel window would drop the false confession paper into my room. The soldier outside my cell would then come straight in and "discover” the confession to prove me guilty. I was already convinced that if they succeeded with their plot, this paper would become my death sentence. For this reason, I was unable to sleep day or night. Any time I saw the soldiers increasing their activity outside the swivel ventilation window of my room late at night, I knew they were preparing to throw the paper inside. So I would immediately shout out that what they were doing was wrong and they should not be standing there so late at night, and he would then leave. However, the other soldier standing guard outside my door would then charge into my room angry about my screaming and would beat me severely before leaving my room. Then, after some time I would see the soldier preparing to throw the paper at me again and coming after me in the same way that a hunter pursues his prey.
