FAVOURS OF THE GRACIOUS GOD If the mercy of God, the Bestower of Security, had not taken care of me; It was nigh that the floods of my crying would have effaced me. We follow the Light of God the moment it manifests; We are not those who barter away the first night of the month, in exchange for darkness. My soul is far from anything that is dark; I have made my sturdy camel sit close to my Illuminator. When I saw my ego blocking my way; I forsook it like a dead thing lying forlorn in the wilderness. I drank goblets of death, for the sake of Guidance; Thus it was, after my death that I saw the Spring of my survival. 46
