وسم ample or abundant. رَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ : My mercy encompasses all things )7:157( رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً : Our Lord, comprehend all things in Thy mercy )408( اَلْوُسْعُ or الْوِسْعَ or الْوَسْعُ : Power; capacity; authority; wealth opportunity لَيْسَ فِي و لا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا . It is not in his power to do it : وُسْعِهِ أَنْ يَفْعَلَ كَذَا وسق وُسْعَهَا : Allah does not burden any soul beyond its capacity )22:27( سَعَةٌ : Width or extent; ampleness of means, or plentifulness; capacity or power; wealth وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةً مِّنَ الْمَالِ : He has not been given ampleness or abundance of wealth (2:248) يُغْنِ اللَّهُ كُلًّا مِّنْ سَعَتِهِ : Allah will make both independent out of His abundance )4:131( أَوْسَعَ : He became rich أَوْسَعَ الْمَوْضِعَ : He found that place spacious أَوْسَعَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ : God made him rich. أَوْسَعَهُ الشَّيْءَ : He made the thing spacious. عَلَى الْمُوْسِعِ قَدَرُهُ : The rich man according to his means )2:237( مُوْسِعُونَ )plural of إِنَّا لَمُوْسِعُوْنَ . (مُوْسِعٌ : We have vast powers )51:48(. وَسَقَ aor. يَسِقُ inf. noun وَسَقَ الشَّيْءَ [وَسْقًا : He gathered and heaped up the thing; he carried the thing; he loaded the thing. وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ : And the night and all that it envelopes اِتَّسَقَ الْأَمْرُ : The affair became in good order, complete perfect whole. وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ : And the moon when it becomes full, its height becomes complete i. e. it becomes Badr, from the 13th to the 15th night (84:19). و He did a : وَسَلَ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِعَمَلٍ تَوَسَّلَ or وَسِيْلَةٌ inf. noun يَسِلُ aor وَسَلَ deed by which he became near to God. وَسَلَ إِلَيْهِ بِكَذَا : He sought to bring himself near to him, or to approach or gain access to him or to advance himself in his favour by such means. وَسِيلَةٌ : Means of access to a thing; means of becoming near to or intimate with a thing or person; honourable rank with a king; degree; affinity; connection وَابْتَغُوا إِلَيْهِ الْوَسِيلَةَ : And see the way of approach to Him (5:36). وَسَمَ ]aor. يَسِمُ inf. noun وَسْمًا or وَسَمَ الشَّيْءَ سِمَةً He stamped marked or branded a thing. تَوَسَّمَ الشَّيْءَ : He deliberated over the thing and considered it or examined it and did so repeatedly to know it or obtain a clear knowledge of it; he recognized the thing by 825
