نزف another. نزل نَزَفَ aor. يَنْزِقُ inf. noun نَزَفَتِ الْبِئْرُ نَرْفًا : The well became empty, all the water having been taken out of it. أَنْزَفَ الرَّجُلُ : The man became excited, the spring of his senses having exhausted; his argument became exhausted in litigation. تُرفَ فُلانٌ : Such a one became intoxicated. The root meaning of نزت is to become exhausted. وَلا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنْزَفُوْنَ : Nor will they be exhausted thereby )37:48( لايُصَدَّعُوْنَ عَنْهَا وَ لَا يُنْزِفُوْنَ : No headache will they get therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated (56:20). نَزَلَ ]aor. يَنْزِلُ inf. noun نزولاً : He alighted, descended or came down; he lodged or settled in a place. نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوْحُ الْآمِينُ : The Spirit, Faithful to the Trust has descended with it )26:194( فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ : When it descends into their courtyard )37:178( نَزَلَ فُلانٌ عَنِ الْحَقِّ : Such a one forsook the truth. نَزَلَ : He travelled. مَازِلْتُ أَنْزِلُ : I continued to travel; نَزَلَ مَنْزِلَ كَذَا : It took or occupied the place, or became in the position or condition. أَنْزَلَ وَنَزَّلَ : He caused to descend. أَنْزَلَ اللهُ كَلامَهُ : God revealed His word. أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً : He caused the water to descend from heaven )2:23(. نَزَّلَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ : He revealed the Book (or caused to descend( with truth )2:177( يُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْتَ : He (God) causes the cloud to descend )31:35( اَنْزَلَ when used about Divine Word, it means أَوْحَى : He revealed. أَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ : God has revealed to thee the Book (4:114). But when used about material things such as food, dress, iron etc. , the word means: He gave; he bestowed. أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوى : We caused Manna and Salwa to descend upon you (2:58). God being high, everything that comes from Him may be said to descend from above. ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ سَكِينَتَهُ : Then God sent down His peace )19:26( وَأَنْزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْمِيزَانَ : And We sent down or bestowed upon or gave them the Book and the Balance )57:26( 0 : يَابَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا children of Adam, We have indeed sent down to you raiment to cover your nakedness( )7:27( وَأَنْزَلَ الَّذِيْنَ. . . . . . . . . أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ : He brought down those of the people of the Book )33:27( تَنَزَّلَ : descended. وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ : And the Satans have not brought 773
