اهل اَوْ آب thou didst go forth early in the morning "from thy household" )3:12( أَهْلُ النَّبِيِّ : The family or wives or daughters of the Prophet and his sons-in-law, comprising his grand-children. أَهْلُ الرَّجُلِ : The man's wife and his children. أَهْلُ الْعَهْدِ : Those who have a compact or covenant with Muslims أَهْلٌ لِكَذَا : Having a 28 right or title to such a thing; entitled thereto; worthy or deserving of it. هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ : He (God) is entitled to be regarded with fear and has the right to forgive )74:57( كَانُوا أَحَقَّ بِهَا وَأَهْلَهَا : They were better entitled to it and more worthy of it )48:27( أَهْلُ الْبَدَعِ : The author or authors of innovation. The opposite of وَحْشِيٌّ is حُمُرٌ أَهْلِيَّةٌ أَهْلِيُّ : Domestic asses. (1) A conjunction; (2) a particle which, when occurring in an enunciative phrase, generally denotes doubt قَالُوْا لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ : they said, "We have tarrced a day or a part of a day(18:20) and vagueness of meaning: وَإِنَّا أَوْ إِيَّاكُمْ لَعَلَى هُدًى أَوْ فِي ضَلَّلٍ مُّبِينٍ : Either we or you are on right guidance or on manifest error. (34:25), and when occurring in an imperative or a prohibitive phrase, generally denotes the giving of option or choice. كُلِ السَّمَكَ أَوِ اشْرَبِ اللَّبَنَ : Eat thou the fish or drink thou the milk. It denotes unrestricted conjunction. أَوْ جَاءَ اَحَدٌ مِّنْكُمْ مِّنَ الْغَائِطِ : Or if any one of you comes from the privy (4:44). It also denotes transition and division كُونُوا هُوْدًا أَوْ نَصَارَى : Beye Jews or Christians (2:136). It is used in the sense of إلاّ and إلى أَنْ and حَتّى . It is also used as a conditional. It denotes division into parts as given above (2:136). Briefly, it means: Or; and; unless or until; nay. آب ]aor يَؤُوْبُ[ : He returned آبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ : He returned to his family at night. اَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ : The sun set آبَ إِلَيْهِ النَّاسُ The people came to him from every direction آبَ إِلَى اللهِ : He returned to God from his sins; he repented, (inf. nouns آيَابٌ and أَوْبٌ and إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا . مَابٌ إِيَابَهُمْ : To Us is their return )88:26( اَوَّبَ : He repeated the praises of God. يَا جِبَالُ أَوِبِئْ مَعَهُ : Omountains repeat the praises of God with him )34:11( اَوَّبَ also means: He journeyed all the day and alighted at night, or he journeyed by night. أَوْبٌ : Returning; a right way; a direction; a way or road. أَوَّابٌ : 44
