غاض aor. يَغَيْرُ inf. noun غِيَارٌ and غَارَ أَهْلَهُ غَيْرٌ : He benefited his people. غَارَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِمَطَرٍ : God watered them with rain and bestowed upon them abundance of the produce of the earth. غار = . . . . . . عَلَى إِمْرَاتِهِ مِنْ فُلان : He was jealous of his wife with regard to such a one. غَارَتْ اِمْرَأَتُهُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ قُلَانَةٍ : His wife was jealous of him with regard to such a woman. غَيَّرَ الشَّيْءَ : He changed the thing; he changed it in order or otherwise for the worse. إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ : Allah does not change the condition of a people (13:12). غَيَّرَ الشَّيْءَ : He exchanged the thing for another thing. تَغَيَّرَ : It became altered or changed; it became changed for the worse; it became exchanged for another thing. لَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُ : The taste of which changes not or changes not for the worse )47:16( مغير Act. part. from لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيْرًا نِعْمَةً غَيَّرَ : Is not the one to change ie would not change a favour )18:54( غَيْرَةٌ : Jealousy. غَيُّورٌ : Very jealous. غَيْرٌ signifies i. q. سِوَى . . . other than; أَتَانَا فَلَمْ نَعْدِلْ سِوَاهُ بِغَيْرِهِ نَبِيٌّ بَدَا فِي ظُلْمَةِ اللَّيْلِ هَادِيًا غار غَارَ And Prophet came to us who appeared in the darkness of night and we did not equal another than him with another than the other i. e. with him; exclusively of not. نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ : We will do righteous works other than we used to do (35:38). مِنْ مَاءٍ غَيْرِ الْسِنِ : Of water not altered in taste or colour )47:16( وَغَيْرُ ذَلِكَ i. e. Etcetra. It is also used in the sense of كَلامُ اللَّهِ غَيْرُ لَيْسَ لَيْسَ بِمَخْلُوْقٍ = مَخْلُوْقٍ : Not created. It is also used in the sense of U and then it is in the accusative case. transgressing the proper limits (2:174). It is also used as an exceptive in the sense of اِلَّا meaning except, save, but لا إِلهَ غَيْرُ Not : لا بَاغِيًا . . غَيْرَ بَاغ الله : There is no God but Allah. It is often used with a preposition. بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ : Without reckoning )2213( مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوْءٍ : Without any disease (20:23). غَاضَ ]aor. يَغِيْضُ inf. noun غَيْضٌ and غَاضَ الْمَاءُ مَغَاضٌ : The water decreased or diminished or became deficient or disappeared in the earth. غَاضَ الثَّمَنُ : The price decreased, diminished or became deficient. غَاضَ الْكَرَمُ : The generous have decreased or have perished. غَاضَ الْمَاءَ : He has made the water scanty. 630
