عمق عم الطَّرِيقُ : The way was or became distant, far-extending and long. عَمِقَ وَعَمُقَ الْبِئْرُ : The well was or became deep. عَمِيقٌ )applied to a road): Distant, remote, far-extending long. يَأْتِيْنَ مِنْ كُلِّ فَجٌ عَمِيْقٍ : Coming from every distant track )22:28( عُمْقٌ : Depth أَعْمَاقُ (plural). 28 عَمِلَ ]aor. يَعْمَلُ inf. noun عَمَلٌ [ : He worked or wrought; he laboured or toiled; he served; he did, acted, performed, generally with intention or with a sort of difficulty. عَمِلَ بِمَا فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ : He did according to what was in the Book of Allah. عَمِلَ فِي هَلاكه : He laboured to destroy him. عَمِلَ الْبَرْقُ : The lightning was continual. عَمِلَ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ : He laboured or strove to collect the alms, or he worked for collecting it. عَمِلَ لِلْاَمِيْرِ عَلَى الْبَلَادِ : He acted as the administrator and the Amir for the towns. مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا : Who does good )16:9( عَمَلٌ : Work labour service, a deed or action done with intention or a sort of difficulty; striving, labouring or toiling in work; holding on or continuing in work; an office of administration; an employment; a province under a governor مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَنِ : Of Satan's work )591( عَامِلٌ = عَمَلٌ ie one who does a work. This use is allowed when an intensified sense is intended. إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ : He is indeed a man of unrighteous act )11:47(. أَعْمَالُ plural )18:10( عَامِلٌ act. part. ): One who works or acts; working, acting doing etc. عَمَلَ عَامِلٍ : Work of a worker (3: 196); an administrator of public affairs, particularly the governor of a province or collector of poor-rates or manager of affairs of a government. عِامِلِينَ and عَامِلُوْنَ are plurals. وَالْعَامِلِيْنَ عَلَيْهَا : And those who are employed in connection therewith )9:60( فَلْيَعْمَلِ الْعَامِلُونَ : Let the workers work )37:62( عُمَّالٌ is also plural but with intensive sense. عَامِلَةٌ )feminine of عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ عَامِلٌ : Toiling, weary (88:4). لک عَمَّ رو 28 عُمُوْمٌ 28 ]aor. يعم inf. noun was or became tall or long; he became a paternal uncle. عَمَّ رَأْسُهُ : His head was wound with a turban. عُمّم : He was made a chief or lord. عَمَّ : A paternal uncle; also a numerous company of : It was or became common; he or it 594
