عجل عجز be caught. عَاجَزْتْهُ فَعَجَزْتُهُ : I contended with him in a race and outstripped him. مُعَاجِزِينَ )singular( مُعَاجِزٌ which is act. part. from عَاجَزَ( : Fighting and contesting with the Prophets of God to render them unable to perform their duties, or striving and opposing God's Signs; opposing and striving to outstrip or gain precedence or imagining that they will render God unable to attain His design or they will escape God. سَعَوْا فِي ايْتِنَا مُعَجِزِينَ : Strive hard in opposing Our Signs )346( أَعْجَازُ )plural of عَجُزٌ and عَجْزٌ and عُجُزٌ and عُجْزٌ and عِجْزٌ which means the hinder part of anything. اَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ : The trunks of palm-trees )54:21(. عَجَفَ ]aor. يَعْجُفُ inf. noun عُجُوفٌ[ : He gave up the food. عَجَفَ نَفْسَهُ عَنِ الطَّعَامِ )inf. noun عَجِفَ and عُجُوْفٌ( : He withheld himself from the food though desiring it preferring that one who was hungry should have it. عَجِفَ )aor يَعْجَفُ and عَجُفَ : Hei. e. a beast or they i. e. cattle became lean or emaciated; lost his or their fatness or plumpness, or became weak. عَجِفَ الْبِلادُ : The towns were without rain. أَعْجَفَ الدَّابَّةَ : He rendered the beast weak, emaciated, lean etc. عِجَاتٌ )singular is أَعْجَفُ and عَجْفٌ which means, weak, lean, having lost his fatness or plumpness( سَبْع عِجَاتٌ : Seven lean )12:47( نَزَلُوْا فِي بِلادٍ عِجَافٍ : They alighted in towns affected with drought. عَجِلُ ]aor. يَعْجَلُ inf. noun عَجَلَةٌ and عَجَلٌ : He hastened or he was quick or expeditious. عَجِلْتُ إِلَى الشَّيْءِ : I hastened to the thing. عَجِلُ : It was or became present or ready. عَجِلْتُ به : I was quick with it. وَلا تَعْجَلْ بِالْقُرْآنِ : And hasten not with the Qur'an )20:115( عَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ : I have hastened to Thee, O my Lord )20:35( أَعْجَلَ : He induced, urged, made him to make haste, or to hasten or commanded him to be quick or to hasten. وَمَا أَعْجَلَكَ عَنْ قَوْمِكَ : And what has made thee hasten away from thy people )20:84( أَعْجَلَ الشَّيْءَ عَنْ وَقْتِهِ : He did the thing hurriedly before its time. اَعْجَلَتْ : She brought forth her offspring before its maturity . تَعَجَّلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ is syn with عَجِلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ فَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ : But who so hastens (to leave) in two days )12:20( عَجَلَ : He hastened to do a thing. عَجَّلَهُ : He went before 554
