اكل or who is deceived or deluded )51:10( فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُوْنَ : And lo! it swallowed up all that which they had fabricated (26:46). إِنْتَفَكَتِ الْبَلْدَةُ بِأَهْلِهَا : The town was or became overthrown or subverted with its inhabitants. اَلْمُؤْتَفِكَةُ )plural( الْمُؤْتَفِكْتُ( : The town or city overturned or subverted. The plural الْمُؤْتَفِكُتُ also signifies the winds that turn over the surface of the earth or ground or the winds that blow from different quarters. noun): A lie; a falsehood اَفَّاتٌ )as also اَفُوْفٌ and اَفِيْفٌ(: A great or habitual liar. وَالْمُؤْتَفِكْتُ ِبالْخَاطِئَة : And the over-turned towns wrought evil )69:10( هَذَا اِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ : This is an old lie )46:12(. وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ أَفَّاكِ أَثِيمٍ : Woe to every great liar and sinner )45:8(.
