ضفدع ضَفْدَعَ الْمَاءُ ضَفْدَ malice (47:38). ضل : The water had frogs in it. ضَفْدَعَ الرَّجُلُ : The man shrank or became contracted; the man voided his excrement. ضَفْدَعٌ : A frog ضَفَادِعُ )plural( وَالصَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ : and the frogs and the blood )7:134( نَقَّتْ ضَفَادِعُ بَطْنِهِ : The frogs of the body croaked i. e. he was or became hungry. ضَلَّ ]aor. يَضَلُّ and يَضِلُّ inf. noun ضَلالٌ and ضَلَّ أَوْ ضَلَلَ [ ضَلالَةٌ )cont. of اِهْتَدَى( : He strayed, erred, or went astray; he deviated from the right course; he missed or lost the right way; he lost his way. لا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ : He who goes astray will not harm you )5:106( قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ إِذًا : Then I would have lost the right way )6:57( ضَلَّ الطَّرِيقَ أَوْ عَنْهُ : He went astray or strayed away from the way. قَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاءَ السبيل : He has undoubtedly gone astray from the right path )2:10( ضَلُّوْا عَنْ سَوَاءِ السَّبِيلِ : They strayed away from the right path (578) : He was or became confounded or perplexed and unable to see his right course. ضَلَّ : It became lost; it perished, came to naught. ضَلَّ سَعْيُكَ : Thy labour has been lost. الَّذِيْنَ ضَلَّ سَعْيُهُمْ : Whose labour is lost or came to naught )18:105( ضَلَّ عَنِّي كَذَا : Such a thing became lost from me. ضَلُّوْا عَنَّا : They have vanished away or become lost to us (40:75). It also means, they became hidden from us. ضَلَّ also means, he died and became dust and bones إِذَا ضَلَلْنَا فِي الْاَرْضِ : When we لک لک یک become lost or when we die or become dust and bones in the لک earth )32:11( ضَلَّ also means, he forgot or his memory became absent from him. ضَلَلْتُ الشَّيْءَ أَوْ ضَلَّ الشَّيْءُ عَنِّى : I forgot the thing or the thing was lost to me. أَنْ تَضِلُّ إِحْدَاهُمَا : If one of them forgets (2:283). According to some لايَضِلُّ رَبِّي also means "My Lord will not be unmindful or nothing will escape my Lord )20:53( ضَلَّ الْمَاءُ فِي اللَّبَنِ : The water became hidden in the milk. أَضَلَّ الرَّجُلَ : He found the man to be erring. أَضْلَلْتُ بَعِيْرِى : I lost my camel and did not know his place. اَصَلَّهُ : He led him astray; he found him erring etc. اَضَلَّهُ الله : God found him to be erring, straying or lost; He adjudged him to be erring or to have gone astray; God forsook or abandoned him. أَضَلُّوْا كَثِيرًا : They led 508
