شفا faithful or sincere or honest advice; and sometimes divested thereof. وَاَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا : And were afraid of it )33:73( وَ اَشْفَقْتُمْ : Did you fear )58:14( أَشْفَقَ عَلَى الصَّغِيرِ : He was affected with pity or compassionate and tenderness for the child أَشْفَقَ الرَّجُلُ : The man entered upon the time of شَفَقَ i. e. redness in the horizon from sunset until nightfall or the mixture of the light of day with the blackness of night at sunset, evening twilight. فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بالشَّفَقِ: But nay, I call to witness the evening twilight )84:17(. مُشْفِقُوْنَ and مُشْفِقِينَ )singular مُشْفِقٌ( وَهُمْ مِّنَ السَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُوْنَ . Fearful : And they are fearful of the Hour )21:50( تَرَى الظَّالِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ And thou wilt see the transgressors in fear )42:23( شَفِيقُ syn with مُشْفِقٌ( : Kind, compassionate, affectionate. 28 ]aor. يَشْفَهُ inf. noun شَفْةٌ [ : He struck his شَفَةٌ . . . e lip. شَافَهَهُ : He put his lip near to his lip. شَفَةٌ : The lip of a human being. شَفَتَا الْإِنْسَانِ : The two lips of man. وَلِسَانًا وَّشَفَتَيْنِ : And a tongue and two lips )90:10( بِنْتُ شَفَةٍ : A word. لَهُ فِي النَّاسِ شَفَةٌ : He has praise among the people. : : ]aor. يَشْفُرْ inf. noun شَفْرٌ[ and ]شَفَى يَشْفِي inf. noun شَفَتِ شِفَاءٌ الشَّمْسُ : The sun set or it was or became near to setting, or it set save a little. اَشْفَى عَلَيْهِ : He was or became on the brink of it. شفى also means, he was or became in the last part of the night which is termed شَفًا شَفَا الَّيْلِ : Point or extremity verge, brink or edge of anything. هُوَ عَلَى شَفَ الْهَلاكِ : He is on the point of destruction. كُنْتُمْ عَلَى شَفَاحُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ : You were on the brink of a pit of fire )3:10( شَفًا also means, a little; a small part or portion, somewhat. مَا بَقِىَ مِنْهُ إِلَّا شَفًا : There has not remained of it save a little. شَفَاهُ اللهُ : God restored him to health. فَهُوَ يَشْفِيْنِ : It is He Who restores me to health )26:81( شَفَاهُ عَنِ الْمَسْئَلَةِ : He relieved him from doubt respecting the question. يَشْفِ صُدُوْرَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَ : And He relieve the minds of people who believe )9:14( يَشْفِيْكَ أَنْ قَالَ : His speech will please thee. شِفَاءٌ : To become free from disease or sickness; to recover from disease etc; to become convalescent; medical treatment; a medicine, cure or remedy. فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِلنَّاسِ : For people there is cure in it )16:70(. 446 شفق شَفَهَ شَفَا
