شرد شرع شَرَحَ اللَّهُ صَدْرَهُ لِلْإِسْلَامِ : God expanded his bosom for the acceptance of Islam )6:126( وَلَكِنْ مَّنْ شَرَحَ بِالْكُفْرِ صَدْرًا : But he who opens his heart for the acceptance of disbelief (16:107). لک شَرَدَ ]aor. يَشْرُدُ inf. noun شُرُوْدٌ and شِرَادٌ[ : He took fright and fled or ran at random; he departed. شَرَدَ عَلَى اللهِ : He departed from the obedience of God. شَرَّدَه )transitive verb) : He made him to take fright and flee or run away at random. شَرَّدَ به : He rendered him notorious by exposing his vices and faults. فَشَرِّدْ بِهُم مَّنْ خَلْفَهُمْ : Then strike fear in those that are behind them (by routing them); terrify or disperse or scatter those that are behind them or render them notorious by exposing their faults for those who will come after them (8:58). شِرْذِمَةٌ )plural شَرَاذِمُ and شَرَادِيمُ [ : A party or company of men or a small number of men; a piece or portion of a thing. ثِيَابٌ شِرَاذِمٌ : Old and worn-out garments. إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ : They are indeed a small party (26:55). شَرَطَ ]aor يَشْرُطُ and يَشْرِطُ inf. noun شَرَطَ عَلَيْهِ بِكَذَا [شَرْطٌ : He imposed upon him such a condition. : He marked himself and prepared himself for such an affair اَشْرَطَ إِبْلَهُ : He made it اَشْرَطَ نَفْسَهُ بِكَذَا : اَشْرَطَ نَفْسَهُ وَمَالَهُ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ known that his camels were for sale He put forward or offered himself and his property in this affair. شَرَطٌ )plural( 1) :(اَشْرَا( token or mark which men appoint between them. اَشْرَاطُ السَّاعَةِ : The signs of the Resurrection; (2) the beginning of a thing. فَقَدْ جَاءَ اَشْرَاطُهَا : Its beginnings or signs have already appeared )47:19( أَشْرَطُ النَّاسِ : The best or meanest of people. هُوَ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ النَّاسِ : He is among the basest or the noblest of people. The beasts : شَرَعَتِ الدَّوَابُّ فِي الْمَاءِ شَرْعٌ inf. noun يَشْرَعُ aor شَرَعَ entered into the water. شَرَعَ فِي الْأَمْرِ : He entered into the affair. شَرَعَ فُلانٌ : Such a one made manifest the truth. شَرَعَ فِي الْمَاءِ : He entered the water or drank the water with his hands. شَرَعَ اللَّهُ لَنَا كَذَا : God made it manifest such a thing for us, or He instituted, established or prescribed for us a religious law or ordinance. شَرَعَ الرَّجُلُ : The man made manifest the truth and crushed the 437
