سكن سکت سَكَتَ ]aor. يَسْكُتُ inf. noun سُكُوْتٌ and سَكْتٌ : He was or became silent, mute; he was or became still or quiet; he died; it was or became still, calm, appeased or quelled; it remitted; it subsided. سَكَتَ عَنْ مُّوْسَى الْغَضَبُ : The anger of Moses subsided or was appeased )7:155( سَكَتَ الْحَرُّ : The heat became intense as the wind stopped blowing. 28 He : سَكِرَ مِنَ الشِّرَابِ سَكَرَانٌ and سَكْرٌ and سَكَرٌ inf. noun يَسْكَرُ . aor] سَكِرَ 28 یک was or became intoxicated or inebriated on account of having drunk wine. سَكِرَ عَلَيَّ فُلَانٌ : Such a one was or became violently angry with me. سَكَّرَ الْإِنَاءَ : He filled the vessel سَكَرَ الْبَابَ : He closed the door. سَكَرَتِ الرِّيحُ : The wind became still. سَكَرَتِ الْحَرُّ : The heat became subsided. سَكَّرَهُ : He throttled him. سَكَرَهُ الشَّرَابُ : The wine made him intoxicated. سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا : Our eyes have been prevented from seeing and dazzled or dazed or have been covered over )15:16( سَكّرٌ : )Wine; strong drink; the expressed juice of fresh ripe dates when it has become strong. تَتَّخِذُوْنَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا : You obtain from it strong intoxicating drink )16:68(. سَكْرَةٌ : A fit of intoxication ( سَكَرَاتٌ plural) ; an over-powering sensation of delight affecting youth; a fit of anger. سَكْرَةُ الْهَمِّ : The intensity or oppressive sensation etc attendant upon anxiety. جَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ : The agony or stupor or intoxication of death comes in truth )50:20( سُكْرَانٌ )plural( سُگاری( : Intoxicated; inebriated; drunken. وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى : When you are drunken or not in full possession of your senses (4:44). سَكَنَ ]aor. يَسْكُنُ inf. noun سُكُوْنٌ[ : It was or became still, stationary, calm, appeased, allayed; it passed away, or ceased to be; it remitted or subsided. سَكَنَ الدَّمُ : The blood ceased to flow. وَلَهُ مَا سَكَنَ فِي الَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ : To Him belongs whatever rests in the night and the day )6:14( سَكَنَ إِلَيْهِ : He relied upon it so as to be easy, or quiet in mind. سَكَنَ إِلَيْهَا : He found comfort in her. لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا : That he may find comfort in her )7:190( سَكَنَ الدَّارَ أَوْ فِى الدَّارِ أَوْ بالدار: He dwelt in the house. أُسْكُنَّ أَنْتَ وَزُوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ : Dwell thou and thy wife in the garden )7:20( سَكَنَ وَسَكُنَ : He became مِسْكِينٌ i. e. weak, poor, lowly or submissive. اَسْكَنَهُ : He made him to 402
