اخذ إِتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيْلًاً : God made Abraham His friend )4:126(. إِتَّخَذَهُ وَلَدًا : He adopted him, made him or took him as a son. وَلَقَدْ اَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيْثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ : And indeed Allah did take a covenant from the children of Israel )5:13( وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُوْرِهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ : And when thy Lord brought forth (took out) from Adam's children out of their loins their offspring )7:173( إِنْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ سَمْعَكُمْ وَأَبْصَارَكُمْ : If Allah should take away your hearing and your sight )6:47( وَاَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ اَخِيْهِ يَجُرُّهُ إِلَيْهِ : And he caught hold of his brother's head, dragging him towards himself )7:151( حَتَّى إِذَا أَخَذَتِ الْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا : When the earth (takes) receives its ornament )10:25( وَلَقَدْ اَخَذْنَا إِلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ : And We punished (seized( pharaoh's people with drought )7:131( قَدْ اَخَذْنَا أَمْرَنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ : We had indeed taken our precaution before hand )9:50( أَخَذَتْهُ الْعِزَّةُ بالإثم . : Pride incites him to sin )2:207( فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيْرٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ : So We seized them like the seizing of one Who is mighty and omnipotent )54:43( فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً : So He seized them a severe seizure )69:11( يَأْخُذُوْنَ عَرَضَ هَذَا الْأَدْنَى : They take the paltry good of this low world )7:170( لَا تَأْخُذْكُمْ بِهِمَا رَأْفَةٌ : Let not pity for the twain take hold of you )24:3( خُذِ الْعَفْوَ : Take to forgiveness )7:200( 0 : يَيَحْى خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ Yahya hold fast the Book )19:13( خُذُوا حِذْرَكُمْ : Take your precautions )4:72( لا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللَّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ : Allah does not call you to account )seize) for your oaths that are vain )2:226( وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا )inf noun مُتَّخِذُ ; إِتَّخَاذُ act. part; مُتَّخِذَةٌ fem. of مُتَّخِذُ ; its plural is مُتَّخِذَاتٌ and they say, Allah has taken for Himself a son )2:117(. وَاتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلًاً : And Allah took Abraham for a friend Those who took the calf for worship : إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ .
