رقب رفق good and excellent companions )4:0( رَفِيقُ is also plural. هذا الْأَمْرُ رَفِيقُ بِكَ : This affair is easy or convenient to thee. مِرْفَقُ : Elbow or elbow-joint ( مَرَافِقُ plural) ; a thing by which one profits or gains benefits or advantage; ease or comfort. يُهَيِّءٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَمْرِكُمْ مِّرْفَقًا : He (God) will provide for you comfort in this affair of yours; He will prepare for you a condition of your case by which you will profit )18:17( مَرَافِقُ الدَّارِ : Such conveniences of the house as the privy and the kitchen and the like. اِسْتَرْفَقَ : He demanded or sought help. ارْتَفَقَ : He profited or gained benefit by him or it; he made use of it; he leaned upon the elbow of his arm or upon the pillow. مُرْتَفَقٌ : A place or thing upon which one leans with مِرْفَقٌ or elbow. حَسُنَتْ مُرْتَفَقًا : Excellent is the resting-place )18:32( فَاغْسِلُوْا وُجُوْهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ : And wash your faces and hands up to the elbows )5:7(. لگ رَقَبَ ]aor. يَرْقُبُ inf. noun رَقَبَهُ رَقَابَةٌ : He looked, watched or waited for him or it; he guarded, kept or took care of it; was mindful or regardful of it. قَعَدَ يَرْقُبُ صَاحِبَهُ : He sat looking or waiting for his companion. وَلَمْ تَرْقُبْ قَوْلِي : And you did not wait for my word or had no regard for it )20:05( لا يَرْقُبُوْنَ فِي مُؤْمِنٍ إِلَّا وَّلَا ذِمَّةً : They do not observe or have no regard for any tie of relationship or covenant )9:10( أَنَا أَرْقُبُ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ : I will keep watch for you tonight. رَقَبَهُ also means, he feared him. رَقَبَ فُلانًا : He put a rope upon the neck of such a one. تَرَقَّبَ and ارْتَقَبَ are syn with رَقَبَ and mean, he waited, or watched. فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ : So he went forth therefrom fearing, watchful )28:22( فَارْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُمْ مُّرْتَقِبُوْنَ : So wait thou, they too are waiting )4460( )مُرْتَقِبُونَ act. part. from رَقِيبٌ إِرْتَقَبَ : Of the measure of فَعِيْلٌ in the sense of فَاعِلٌ : 28 A looker, watcher or waiter in expectation; a guardian, keeper or preserver; one stationed on an elevated place to keep watch; a spy or scout of an army; a watcher or an observer; a man's successor of his offspring or kinsfolk; the son of a paternal uncle; a species of serpent. كُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّقِيْبَ عَلَيْهِمْ : Thou hast been the Watcher over them )5:118( إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ رَقِيبٌ : Surely, I wait with you )11:94(. الرَّقَبَةُ : The neck; a slave, male or female. ) رِقَابٌ plural(. ذَنْبُهُ فِي رَقَبِهِ : His sin or crime on his neck, i. e. on 337
